That time has rolled around once again. The ‘Question of the Week’ has come upon us once again and I’m looking forward to finding out if you are a people person and why. At the chance of sounding like a completely antisocial witch, I can honestly say that I am not. Looking back, I have always kind of been that way. I remember when I was in preschool that I gave my Mom a hard time about going because I didn’t like my classmates.

I also tend to be socially awkward. I am able to get along with many different types of people and blend in quite effectively but I am not comfortable going out of my way to introduce myself to strangers.

The problem is that I just don’t know what to say. I abhor trying to be witty and fun under pressure. Perhaps I am just a wierdo, really but I’d rather get a root canal than endure small talk about politics, sports, or god forbid, the whole fashion/Hollywood scene. (Yuck, just yuck.)

I’ve also found that I don’t have a whole lot in common with most of the women I meet around here. I hate to say it because it does sound so snobby but they tend to annoy or bore the hell out of me. Perhaps I need an attitude adjustment. Maybe I need to bite the bullet and learn to tolerate discussing designer shoes and Britney Spears without wanting to put a gun to my head. Then again, maybe I just need to just relocate to my own planet. I hear Mars is nice this time of year. So, are you a people person? Why or why not?

I was reading a very interesting post entitled Coulda Woulda Shoulda and it gave me the idea for this week’s ‘Question of the Week’. In her post Marie writes that “there are a lot of people that like to say they have no regrets. ” What a load of crap! Even if we learn from our mistakes there are always things we wish we could have done differently. So your question for this week is, What do you regret most in life?

I regret not spending more time with my Grandfather before he passed. I was so wrapped up in my own life, that I pretty much kept putting off doing things with him because of my own busy schedule. This man was more of a father to me than my own Dad. I was his little Princess and for a few years I barely bothered with him and yet he never gave up.

I was so selfish back then. When I think of all the memories I missed in order to hang out with people I don’t even really associate with anymore it makes me ill. When he was diagnosed with stage four Cancer I spent as much time as I could with him but he was so sick that he just wanted to be alone most of the time and then he was just gone before any of us could even process his illness.

Our loved ones are the most precious things we have in this lifetime and I will never take that for granted again but the cost of that lesson was far too steep. I would give anything to have that time back. I miss him so much.

Oh crap! Why does every single quiz I take that has colors in it always pick red for me? I’m really not fond of red at all. I don’t own a single thing that’s red or even a variation of red, like maroon. Nothing. Nada. *sigh* I keep hoping for black. Black is cool and sleek like a panther. It’s that time again! The question of the week is upon us. This week, as the Holiday season is at hand, I would like to ask you, “If you could leave coal in the stocking of one nasty person this year, who would it be and why?”

I wouldn’t hesitate to leave coal in the stocking of the most miserable little miser I know: My great Aunt. She is a veritable female Scrooge of the highest order. This woman has money and doesn’t mind lavishing it on herself and frivolously throw it around but would never give a dime to a family member for any reason.

She’ll stop by and tell you all about her trips around the world and all the money she drops on the stupidest of things. Yet, she called my Grandmother after my Grandfather died and asked if it was really necessary for her to have to buy flowers or send a card. We all know how that two fifty she spent at Hallmark on her own Sister would have put her in the poor house. I still want to slap her for that and it’s been years since that incident.

It just goes to show that having money doesn’t mean you have any class.

I was pleasantly surprised when I took this quiz. I think it’s right on the money. I’ve even had some of my friends tell me the same exact things. The only part of this that did not ring true for me was the whole ‘white lie’ thing. I do tell white lies now and then. I don’t know a single person who’s honest all the time about every subject because despite how the saying goes, honesty is not always the best policy. The world is not that black and white.
